Deploy Picoclaw — An AI Assistant That Boots in Under 1 Second

Picoclaw is an ultra-lightweight AI assistant written in Go. It compiles to a single binary, uses less than 10MB of RAM, boots in under 1 second, and supports six messaging platforms out of the box — Telegram, Discord, QQ, DingTalk, LINE, and WeCom.

If you want a fast, no-nonsense AI assistant that just works, Picoclaw is the simplest option in the Claw family.

Why Picoclaw?

  • Under 10MB RAM — one of the lightest AI assistants you can run
  • Single binary — one Go executable, no runtime dependencies
  • Boots in under 1 second — instant cold starts, no warmup
  • 6 messaging platforms — Telegram, Discord, QQ, DingTalk, LINE, and WeCom
  • 10GB disk — the smallest disk footprint of any Claw agent
  • Asia-first channels — native support for QQ, DingTalk, LINE, and WeCom alongside Western platforms

Prerequisites

Before you start, you'll need:

  • A HowToDeploy account (sign up free)
  • A cloud provider API key (DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr, Linode, or AWS)
  • An Anthropic API key

Step 1: Connect your cloud provider

Go to Settings → Cloud Providers and paste your API key.

Tip: Picoclaw is tiny. It runs on the absolute cheapest server any provider offers — $4-5/month gets you more than enough.

Step 2: Deploy Picoclaw

Head to the Dashboard and find Picoclaw in the AI Agents section. Click the card to open the deploy form.

You only need one field:

  • Anthropic API Key — the LLM provider for your assistant

Server size (1GB RAM, 1 CPU, 10GB disk), region, and everything else is pre-configured.

Step 3: Connect your channels (optional)

Expand Advanced Settings to add:

For QQ, DingTalk, LINE, and WeCom, you can configure tokens through the config file on your server after deployment.

Step 4: Start chatting

Once deployment completes, Picoclaw is live — it booted in under a second. If you connected a Telegram or Discord bot, send a message and you'll get an instant response.

What's included

Every Picoclaw deployment includes:

  • Single Go binary — no package managers, no interpreters, no containers
  • 6 platform integrations — Telegram, Discord, QQ, DingTalk, LINE, WeCom
  • Swappable LLM provider — Anthropic or OpenAI via config
  • Instant boot — sub-second cold starts
  • Full SSH access — your server, your binary, your config
